传说在许多养了猫的家庭中，人类都会渐渐地被猫“奴役”从而变成“猫奴”。《生而为猫》的主角——小小菜一家就是这样一个被猫掌控的家庭！端茶送水只是家常便饭，猫主子的心情稍有不快便在家里大吵大闹，四处捣乱。吃炸鸡得防着猫，玩游戏也得防着猫。人犯错是人类的错，猫犯错也是人类的错。在这样的环境里，有些人类选择反抗，有些人类竟选择收买讨好。小小菜家里，他的父母菜哥和小米儿是反抗派。小小菜是投降派，选择和猫猫们同流合污一起捣乱。由此，一场人猫大战一触即发！
