改编自 纸城境介 撰写、たかやKi 插画轻小说的电视动画《继母的拖油瓶是我的前女友》（継母の连れ子が元カノだった），确定2022年7月6日开始播出，宣传 CM 与第1话场面撷图也同步公开。

原作小说2017年起于 KADOKAWA 小说投稿网站「KAKUYOMU」开始连载，曾获得「第三届 KAKUYOMU 网路小说大赛」恋爱喜剧部门大赏、「这本轻小说真厉害！2020」文库部门新作第3名等奖项，累计销量突破50万册。动画监督为执导《弱角友崎同学》的 柳伸亮，知名编剧 赤尾でこ 负责系列构成。
伊理户水斗与绫井结女在国中时成为男女朋友，因为一点小事互相误会，而在毕业时分手。然而升上高中的两人由于父母再婚，从前情侣成为兄弟姊妹，「当时」的回忆加上同住一个屋檐下的状况，害得两人无法不注意对方的一举一动。
